There is a 50% chance of rain in Marin County Saturday morning. The clinics are a go for sure. We will make game day decision whether to ride or not. If you are experienced riding in rain come ready with your wet weather gear, if not I would suggest you skip this ride if it is wet. Some people plan to ride rain or shine, but this is your decision to make. You could sign up for the 9/10am spin class @ 17th Street or 8/10am @ M2 (if there is demand, we can repeat the tire clinic on another day).
UPDATE: Come at 8:30 for tips on purchasing a new bike with Mike's Bikes staff followed by a flat tire clinic to practice changing an inner tube. Then around 10:15 am we ride Paradise Loop.
8:30-9:15 bike selection clinic
9:15-10: flat tire clinic
10:15-1pm (ish) ride if not heavy rain
We need experienced tube-changers to help mentor the 0-60 cohort. Please indicate in your RSVP if you can come early to help or if you plan only to join for the ride. Otherwise I will assume you want to join the tire clinic.
Bring your bike inside the store for the clinic. You may also opt to only bring your front tire, but be sure to secure your bike if you leave it in your car (never a good idea if you can avoid it).
Checklist of what to bring:
-1 wheel (attached to your bike that you should bring inside)
-2 tire irons to take tire off
-air canister if you want to practice using that, otherwise use the hand pump in the store
If you are only attending the clinics, you may park in Mike's lot, but if you are riding you should move your car. I recommend you park at Pohono Street Park and Ride and ride your bike back to Mike's for the clinic and ride start. You may also park behind Mike's on the dirt, but you risk a flooded car.
