Join us for a run/swim brick at Shadow Cliffs in Pleasanton!
We'll meet at Shadow Cliffs in the main parking lot. Then we'll head out for a 50 minute run. Once complete, we'll change into our wetsuits and go for a dip in the lake to help acclimatize ourselves to open water swimming.
If you haven't been in open water before, we'll be on hand to help you get comfortable (although this is not an officially coached clinic).
DIRECTIONS AND PARKING:
If you're using a GPS or phone, search for Shadow Cliffs Regional Recreation Area on Stanley Blvd, Pleasanton.
Overview directions: Head over the Bay Bridge, then get on to 580 East. Continue on 580 for about 28 miles, then take exit 47 for Santa Rita Road towards Tassajara Road. Keep right at the fork, follow signs for downtown and merge onto Santa Rita Road. Follow Santa Rita for 1.7 miles, then turn left onto Valley Ave. After 1.0 miles, turn left again, this time onto Stanley Ave. Continue on Stanley Ave for 0.7 miles and the park will be on your right.
Enter the park, pay your $6 fee and park in the main lot.
We'll meet at 9am near the changing rooms/restroom building between the parking lot and the swimming beach.
WHAT TO BRING:
Swim cap (brightly colored please, not grey, black, silver or dark blue)
Change of clothes
Perhaps a flask of something warm to drink after the swim
