We're heading across the Bay this weekend to enjoy the varied treats of the East Bay. Our mileage will step up to 32 and we'll have a few hills to test drive our new climbing and descending skills. Around halfway, the Good Butter Bakery beckons with sweet goodness.

For the main ride, we'll get most of the climbing done in the first 10 miles as we head over the 3 Bears, a series of hills. There's then a long gradual descent to the bakery stop. On the way back, we have a couple more shorter climbs to burn off the calories. The longer distances have no formal support so make sure you pay attention to maps and turnsheets.

Extra credit: adds a 14 mile tour of Port Costa, in parts along the bay waterfront for a total of 46 miles

Extra Grizzly: Adds Grizzly Peak and Wildcat Canyon at the start of the ride, so a bunch more climbing, before completing the main route for a total of 52 miles

Extra Wild Costa: The whole shebang - Grizzly Peak, Three Bears and the Port Costa tour for a total of 67 miles and almost 6,000 feet of climbing.
