Mini-Triathlon

Test your new-found knowledge from the transition clinic in a no-pressure mini-tri. The distances will be approximately 500 yards in the water, 7.6 miles on the bike and 2.9 miles on the run. Bring your open water swimming gear (including wetsuit), bike & bike gear, a towel, run gear and nutrition/water.

All members are welcome to attend this mini-tri.

START LOCATION AND PARKING:
We'll meet at Clipper Cove on Treasure Island
Exit on to Treasure Island Road and take a right on to Clipper Cove Way. There is a large parking lot there.

View the parking and transition map ahead of time: you will need to double back from the parking lot on foot along the Treasure Island Blvd causeway to Yerba Buena Island to get to the start.

WHAT TO BRING:
Below is what you will want to bring for the mini-tri at the minimum. Let any of us know if you have any questions about any of the items.

Body glide
Ear plugs
Tri suit/swimsuit
Swim cap
Bike
Bike shoes
Bike jersey/shirt (if not wearing tri suit)
Bike shorts (if not wearing tri suit)
Socks

Running shorts (if not wearing tri suit)

Sunscreen

COURSE INFO
Swim: ~250 yards (https://www.strava.com/routes/12245108)
The swim course will be a beach start from Clipper Cove. You will swim out to a buoy and back to the beach for your exit. You will climb the stairs and head to the transition area.

Bike: 7.6 miles (https://www.strava.com/routes/7749112)
Once you exit transition, you'll carefully mount your bike and head down Treasure Island Road through the guard gate and continue on to Avenue of the Palms. Turn right on 9th street and then an immediate left on Avenue B (watch out for on coming traffic). Turn right on Gateview Ave and continue on to Avenue H. Turn right on California Ave. You will have completed 1 loop when you get back to guard gate on Tresure Island Road. You will do this loop 3 times. On your last loop you will turn left (watch for oncoming traffic) and head back up Treasure Island Ave to the transition area.

Having dropped off your bike, you'll follow the same bike loop for one lap. Once you exit transition, carefully head down Treasure Island Road through the guard gate and continue on to Avenue of the Palms. Turn right on 9th street and then an immediate left on Avenue B (watch out for on coming traffic). Turn right on Gateview Ave and continue on to Avenue H. Turn right on California Ave. Turn left on Treasure Island Road and head back up to transition.
