UPDATE: We're going to start around 11. Text 415-297-8147 if you want to join the ride.
If you're coming up a day early for Santa Rosa, join me to ride a loop around Geysers Road. This is an awesome ride that goes through vineyards and remote mountains. Cars are almost nonexistent on Geysers Road.
This is a challenging ride: 51 miles and 4000 feet of elevation. Here's a Strava route from last time I did it, took me about 4 hours moving time:
We'll leave from the Jimtown Store, a popular Sonoma County cycling spot, at 10:00am.
To park, go east of the store, and park on the dirt off the side of Pine Flat road.
The Geysers is a long, hot ride. Bring two water bottles minimum. We'll stop in Cloverdale to get water, but after that it's 30+ miles with no services (and no cell reception).
There are a few gravel patches where Geysers Road is falling apart. You can ride over them, carefully, or walk your bike——none are longer than about 100 feet.
Call me if you have questions day of ride. Cell: 415-297-8147.
