Join us for the best kind of triathlon: Bike ride -> lunch & wine tasting -> IM Cowbell

Bring your pom-poms and your wine tasting fashion for a full day of ALL THE THINGS.

Driving to Bella: Allow at least 1:45 to 2 hours drive time from SF; drive NORTH on Highway 101; EXIT at Dry Creek Road in Healdsburg; turn LEFT; continue 7.3 miles, then turn LEFT on Yoakim Bridge Road (easy to miss, it's just after Canyon Road); then turn RIGHT on West Dry Creek Road; drive 1.3 miles to Bella; do NOT park in their main lot; continue 100 feet to the dirt overflow lot on the right.

Meet at 8:30 a.m., rolling at 8:40 a.m.; please be on time so we can roll and minimize delays on the route due to race. You can nap later at Bella!

Preview the route HERE

Route notes: 43 miles; 1,733 feet of climbing; parallels (but does not follow) the IMSR bike course for about 20 miles, then follows the course in the opposite direction for about 20 miles; there is a 1-mile portion when we will be on course following riders so we will be respectful and accommodating, perhaps riding on the other shoulder (sorry - unavoidable!).

Disclaimer: We tried hard to study the course and avoid conflicts, but it's possible we may have missed something that re-routes or slows us.

Lunch: 5 miles from the end of the ride, we will stop at the Geyserville Market & Deli (21010 Geyserville Avenue @ Hwy 128) to buy sandwiches, chicharrones, animalitos, etc. Do you have room in your pockets?

Winery: Back at the cars, open your baggie and wipe the sweatbitch off with a wet washcloth and do whatever it takes to make yourself fabulous for lunch / wine tasting / touring the Bella Vineyards & Wine Caves, take a long nap on a grass mat (provided), or if that's not enough for your competitive spirit, you can test your corn hole skills later in the afternoon.

Tastings at Bella Vineyards: The basic tasting is $15; wine cave tastings are $25.

Dinner: Next up is a change into your winter puffy and a dinner destination in Windsor (Jaded Toad, 275 Windsor River Road, Windsor) before we drive to downtown Santa Rosa to cheer our IMSR racers to their 5-mile mark or their victorious finishes - whatever suits you. It'll be a long day -- go home when you need to.

Cheer: Jean and Chris will be setting up the SFTC tent in "TriClub Row" in downtown Santa Rosa (D St. btwn 2nd & 3rd) so we'll head over there after dinner or whenever.

This day may be as complicated as the actual IM but certainly less painful.

Save yourself! Know the route or print it out, bring ID, cash, credit, insurance info, phone, washcloth and fancy hat, warm apres-velo and cheer clothes/accessories, bike, helmet, shoes, sunglasses, fix-a-flat kit, water bottles, food, a bike lock and cable, and a plan to extricate yourself from whatever trouble you get into along the way.

If you plan to join for wine tasting, please let me know so I can make the reservation. Join us for some, part, or all of the day's adventures!
